Oxygen will be compressed by labyrinth type oxygen compressor to 36 bar(G).
Argon production(Option):
The plant can be equipped with an argon extraction unit to get pure liquid argon about 130 Nm3/h. If oxygen plant with argon extraction then cold box system can not be ready assembled for delivery and shall be assembled on site.

Oxygen Plant Features

This Oxygen Plant proposed by CNASPC has following features:

  1. Process features

This Oxygen Plant adopts molecular sieve purification, turbo expander with booster, oxygen outer compression & nitrogen inner compression process.

  • Features of equipment and machines for the oxygen plan

a. Air filter

-- Self-cleaning type air filter equipped with its auto control system for automatic counter blow off in due time which can be set by program as per resistance.

b. Air pre-cooling system

-- Air cooling column is economic type with demist device

Direct contacting cooling manner is adopted to cool down air temperature by water which can wash away mechanical impurities and acidic substances in air.

Higher efficiency with lower resistance type packing is used to guarantee the heat exchange performance at less pressure loss which embodies lower discharge pressure of air compressor for less power consumption.

Liquid distributor adopts new efficient advanced design to make water more even distribution for touching with air. Guaranteed heat exchanging performance will save cold water quantity for lower power consumption.

-- Cooling water column is also economic type with demist device

Cooling water column adopts higher efficiency & lower resistance packing column to fully recover cold energy from waste nitrogen & nitrogen.

Reliable centrifugal water pumps from western country (i.e. KSB) are equipped in one use one standby manner for reliability.

c. Air compression system

-- Main air turbo compressor adopts centrifugal type of high quality machines original from Western country (i.e. Cooper, USA).

d. Molecular sieve purification system

-- Design of molecular sieve purification system adopts long cycle adsorption, double beds purification, no impulsion switch-over control technique.

-- Long cycle adsorption means each adsorber takes 4 hours as one adsorption cycle which will prolong molecular sieve & switch-over valve‘s life spans and reduce switch over loss. The less switch-over times will lessen pressure fluctuations for more stable conditions of rectification columns. Especially to the air pre-cooling system with water cooling column, long cycle adsorption design can reduce the quantity demand of regenerating waste nitrogen. Thus, air pre-cooling system and molecular sieve purification system can work in very goods matching relations for long-term operation of the oxygen plant.

-- Molecular sieve adsorbers are double beds in structure (active alumina bed + 13X APG molecular sieve bed). The bottom active alumina bed can protect molecular sieve for its long life span. Double beds structure makes regenerating resistance lower and lower regenerating temperature for saving energy.

-- No impulsion switch-over technique is realized by and for:

Switch-over valves are equipped with speed regulator for smooth & even actions of open & close

Pressure balance valves adopt split-program control to guarantee stability of the inflating period.

Waste nitrogen vent valve adopts pre-open manner to avoid choke phenomena in upper column.

Switch-over system is controlled by DCS automatically with differential pressure auto judgement as well as valve position feedback signal condition functions for reliability of the switch-over system.

e. Rectification system (Cold box)

-- The whole process calculation uses international advanced ASPEN & HYSYS software. The software adopts real data from more than hundreds successfully & stably running oxygen plants both in domestic and in abroad for parameters recursive treatment. This can guarantee the simulating calculation to tally with real operation in the future.

-- Lower column adopts higher efficient sieve tray type column for saving cost

-- Upper column also adopts higher efficient sieve tray type column to lower column height.

-- Main condenser/vaporizer designed as bathing type and for fully immerging operation. It will increase the recycle times to avoid crystal hydrocarbons and N2O on the surface.

-- Higher efficient turbo expander with booster is adopted for lower power consumption and higher reliability.

In this way, Cold box can be ready assembled in manufacturer before delivery. It will greatly reduce installation load on site to shorten installation period and reduce installation costs for the project.

f. Instrument control system

DCS is applied as central control measures for the oxygen plant. CNASPC is leading company in the application of DCS for oxygen plant in China with rich successful experiments. By advanced DCS, regulating valves, on-line analyzers etc. detecting & control elements, oxygen plant normal and stable operation is guaranteed. In emergent case, protective measures can be taken by the control system. DCS system is original from west countries of famous brand, such as ABB, Siemens, Foxboro etc.
